Services
Services available at Coteau des Prairies Hospital include: in-patient, out-patient, ICU/CCU, observation, swing beds, birthing room, emergency room, in-patient and out-patient surgery, scopes, home health, laboratory, X-Ray, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, CT scans, bone density scans, cardiac rehab, stress tests, physical therapy, ambulance/patient loading-unloading garage, telemedicine and a heliport. Public memberships are available for use of the cardiac rehab center.
Acute Care
Acute care services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by qualified, competent nursing and support staff. Coteau des Prairies Hospital utilizes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nursing assistants to provide a team approach in caring for our patients.
A two-bed intensive/coronary care unit has the latest in monitoring equipment to give our patients the best care. Our staff is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) to provide safe and immediate care in emergency situations.
Swingbed Program
The Swingbed Program is an essential component for the continuation of care for patients in our community. It allows patients that are not ready to go home, but no longer meet acute care criteria, to receive additional services and care, while remaining in a hospital setting. A multi-disciplinary approach is used to evaluate and develop discharge planning from various departments that assist in a patient's care. Departments that may be involved in assisting a patient on their way to recovery include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy and Dietary Services.
Obstetrics
The entire staff is dedicated to making your childbirth experience as safe and as comfortable as possible. Qualified staff is available to help with every phase of a family pregnancy, from childbirth classes, delivery, and care of the baby and mother, to discharge from the hospital. There is a breastfeeding educator, delivery room coaches, and staff certified in neonatal resuscitation. We are here to make your birthing experience as comfortable as possible for you and your family.
Emergency Services
Emergency services are provided 24 hours a day, 7days a week with specially trained and certified staff in emergency medicine including trauma, life-support, advanced cardiac life support, and neonatal resuscitation. Providers are always available to treat unexpected acute health emergencies. The emergency room is designed to provide safe and immediate care through various forms of accessible leading edge monitoring and treatment equipment.
