Coteau Hospital Designated Training Site
Coteau des Prairies Hospital and Clinic has been designated a Teaching Center by the South Dakota Area Health Education Center at the Sanford School of Medicine/University of South Dakota. The Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is an academic-community partnership to recruit, train and retain health professionals to work in underserved populations. In South Dakota, this primarily translates to citizens who reside in the most rural areas of our state.
“Coteau des Prairies Hospital and Clinic has participated as a teaching site for the Sanford School of Medicine for many years. This new designation as a AHEC site opens up the potential for additional federal assistance and the coordination of resources for future recruiting and training needs for students wishing to pursue a healthcare career,” says Dan Ellis, Coteau CEO.
The South Dakota AHEC is funded by a grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration of the federal government.

Coteau des Prairies Hospital/Clinic to Consolidate Clinics in Browns Valley
“Coteau des Prairies Hospital/Clinic is pleased to announce that Dr. Stanley Gallagher and Brad Gallagher, PAC will be joining our organization and helping us to expand our services in Sisseton, Rosholt and Browns Valley,” says Dan Ellis, CDP’s CEO. Both Gallaghers will become CDP providers effective January 1, 2011. They will remain at their 404 West Broadway clinic building and Dr. Judy Beumer will begin seeing patients there as well. CDP will close its Browns Valley Clinic and all medical services will be provided out of the Gallagher’s building. Patients may call either of these two numbers to schedule appointments for the Valley Clinic: 320-695-2526, or 320-695-2105.
Dr. Gallagher and Brad will also have appointment times at other CDP affiliated clinic locations. Their schedule is as follows:
Dr. Gallagher will be in Sisseton at the CDP Clinic on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. The phone number for the Sisseton Clinic is 605-698-7681.
Dr. Gallagher will be in the Valley Clinic on Tuesday mornings. On Tuesday afternoons and Wednesdays he will be in the Rosholt Clinic.

Brad Gallagher will be in the Valley Clinic on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
